Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026

This explains what Vanity collects, why, and how it's used.

What we collect

Your email address (used to sign in and derive your verified domain badge), an optional display name and school/company you add to your profile, listing details and photos you post, and messages you send within the app. We also collect basic usage analytics (pages visited, general traffic) via Vercel Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you individually.

How we use it

To run the marketplace: showing your verified domain badge, letting you post and browse listings, delivering messages between renters and hosts, sending you sign-in links and relevant notifications, and manually reviewing new listings/accounts for trust & safety before they go live.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information to third parties. Your real email address and phone number are never shown to other users in the app — only your verified domain (e.g. "@company.com") is visible. Messages are filtered to discourage sharing contact info like phone numbers or emails within them.

Who we share data with

Vanity is built on a small set of infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf: Supabase (authentication, database, and photo storage), Resend (sending sign-in and notification emails), and Vercel (hosting and analytics). We don't share your data with anyone beyond what's needed to run the app.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email jerrywen2003@gmail.com — self-serve account deletion isn't built yet, but we'll handle requests promptly.

Children's privacy

Vanity is intended for people 18 and older (typical of the internship/new-grad audience it's built for) and isn't directed at children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
